Did you know 1 in 6 children in Mecklenburg County experiences food insecurity, and nearly half of CMS students receive free school meals?

We're proud to support Bags of Hope, a local nonprofit that provides weekend food bags to 950 students in 35 Lake Norman and Charlotte-area schools.

As a Neighborhood Ambassador, I'll be delivering brown grocery bags to each home the weekend of August 14. Simply fill the bag with the requested food items and place it back on your porch by 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, and we'll pick it up!

Our neighborhood's total will be combined with other participating neighborhoods as we work toward raising $30,000 to help stock Bags of Hope's warehouse for the new school year.
